The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Kossuth was held in the Town Hall 129 Packer Drive, on Monday, April 3, 2017. Agenda for this meeting was posted on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Town Hall, Recycling Center and St. Augustine Church. Present: Chair John Hutterer, Supervisors Jim Froelich and Ralph Schuh, Clerk Jolyn Schuh, Treasurer Judy Fierst, and Constable Lane Gosz.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Hutterer. The pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion by Supervisor Froelich and second by Supervisor Schuh to approve the agenda as posted.
Clerk Schuh read the minutes of the March meeting. Motion by Supervisor Schuh second by Supervisor Froelich to approve minutes as read.
Treasurer Judy Fierst reported $217,236.22 in the Money Market, with interest earned $96.11 and $538.71 in the checking account. Recycling Revenues to date are $7,073.68. We received a $100 donation from Bank First National for our annual meeting. We currently have $50,632.33 in our Re-assessment account. Motion by Supervisor Froelich to invest $40,000 from our re-assessment fund in a 2 yr CD at 1.59% second by Supervisor Schuh. The remaining dollars will stay in the current re-assessment account. Motion by Supervisor Schuh and second by Supervisor Froelich to accept Treasurer’s report as presented.
Public Input – Nathan Hay spoke about the house which burned a couple of weeks ago on Cty K across the road from Mike Marek trucking. There are concerns with the insulation hanging out and the high winds we’ve been having that it will be blown all over the neighborhood. The burned house had a basement well. The neighbors well is bubbling from the firefighting foam used. Kellnersville Fire Dept was talking to the Health Dept this afternoon. We don’t know if it’s been officially condemned or not.
Building Permits – Paul Dvorak, Danmar Rd new siding and repairs – Reggie Kranz Hillcrest Rd, remodel bathroom & add ramp – Jolene Vanne Cty Rd Q, new siding - Tony Junk, Parkway Rd. wants to build new garage where the one burned down last year. Still waiting to hear back from him once he goes to Park & Planning, so that he can get a town permit.
Driveway Permits – None
Chairman Hutterer appoints Bill Neuman and Brian Georgensen to the Planning Commission for another 3 yr term.
Road Report – Need to put in a culvert on the north end of Thunder Rd, should add gravel for when they start putting the tower up. Culverts on Parkway and Reif Mills Rd need to be replaced.
Supervisor Froelich picked up a couch on Zeman Rd, that got dumped Saturday night. Supervisor Schuh picked up doors and other garbage on Reif Mills Rd.
The last of the new address signs were put up last week.
We received the Bridge Report – Danmar has some delamination, but nothing else extensive except regular brush cutting, crack filling
Supervisor Froelich received 2 envelopes for proposals from Grumpy’s Enterprises last month. No actions will be taken as other commitments have been made.
Transfer Station – Lloyd Recore paid the invoice sent to him. He is no longer in arrears.
Constables Report – Dog on R chasing Mail man, taken to the Humane Society. Same dog again on R, working with Humane Society – Direct traffic on K/Thunder for house fire - complaint of burning garbage in barrels on Seidl Rd, checked it out and found nothing - garbage complaint at home on Cty R, stopped, no one home, left a note.
Water report – 7 wells. Don’t know how many are and are not working. There was a drop of 7 ft of water on Q, with no explanation (Backus). When Carmeuse blasts, there are spikes in the water levels.
Claims 160 – 182 were allowed ordered paid.
