The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Kossuth was held in the Town Hall 129 Packer Drive, on Monday, March 6, 2017. Agenda for this meeting was posted on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Town Hall, Recycling Center and St. Augustine Church. Present: Chair John Hutterer, Supervisors Jim Froelich and Ralph Schuh, Clerk Jolyn Schuh, and Treasurer Judy Fierst.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Hutterer. The pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion by Supervisor Froelich and second by Supervisor Schuh to approve the agenda as posted.
Clerk Schuh read the minutes of the February meeting. Anna Handl was denied an operator’s license because her certificate was older than 2 years. After further review, she had a license with the Town which expired 6/30/2016. Clerk Schuh issued the license.
Motion by Supervisor Schuh second by Supervisor Froelich to approve minutes as read w/amendment.
Treasurer Judy Fierst reported $271,173.34 in the Money Market, with interest earned $90.79 and $538.71 in the checking account. Recycling Revenues to date are $4,707.25. The bank is going to start charging for printed statements, so we will get all those electronic. Motion by Supervisor Schuh and second by Supervisor Froelich to accept Treasurer’s report as presented.
Public Input – Patricia Koppa is running for Circuit Court Judge for Manitowoc County on the April ballot. She introduced herself and gave her background.
Virginia Klemm said that she works for the County canvas board and they just got a raise and would like to see the Town consider raising the wages for poll workers.
Driveway Permits – Randy Hutterer, field access on Wage Rd. He would like to move the driveway from the north side of the cross culvert to the south side.
Building Permits – No building permits have been issued this year or setback permits issued by the County. Keller however has one pending for work at Able Acres. Chad Koeppel didn’t get a permit for the building he put around his outdoor wood furnace. We will contact the county since he didn’t get a set-back permit either.
Road Report – TRIP program, need to get something submitted. Holschbach is reportedly working with NRCS office regarding drainage from culvert on Reif Mills Rd. should have answer in a few days.
There are potholes on Parkway Rd. If it gets nicer out, Jim will fill them in. Crackerjack stuff is outside.
Transfer Station – Lloyd Recore said that Supervisor Froelich said that we were just going to forget the invoice that was sent to him and start over. That is not what was said nor do the minutes reflect that. Refusal to pay means he will no longer be able to use the transfer station.
Constables Report – Not present.
Claims 119 – 159 were allowed ordered paid.
Motion by Supervisor Froelich and seconded by Supervisor Schuh to adjourn the March meeting.
