The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Kossuth was held in the Town Hall 129 Packer Drive, on Monday, September 5, 2017. Agenda for this meeting was posted on Saturday August 4, 2017 at the Town Hall, Recycling Center and St. Augustine Church. Present: Chair Ralph Schuh, Supervisors Dave Propson, Mark Grapentine, Clerk Jolyn Schuh, and Treasurer Judy Fierst.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ralph Schuh. The pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion by Supervisor Propson and second by Supervisor Grapentine to approve the agenda as posted.
Clerk Schuh read the minutes of the August meetings. Motion by Supervisor Propson second by Supervisor Grapentine to approve minutes as read.
Treasurer Judy Fierst reported $177,180.45 in the Money Market, with interest earned $75.41 and $538.71 in the checking account. Recycling Revenues to date are $25,213.07. We Received the TRIP money we applied for on Sept 2nd. Motion by Supervisor Propson and second by Supervisor Grapentine to accept Treasurer’s report as presented.

Burn Permits –Knollwood Gardens
Motion by Supervisor Propson to approve a picnic license for Rockwood Fire Department for their Annual Fish Boil, October 13th, second by Supervisor Grapentine.
Operator License – Sean Sheridan and Michelle Arndts are renewals for Rockwood Fire Department, Amber Sweet, Ryan Brahmstadt, and Sarah Driftmier are new for Scores. Motion by Supervisor Propson to approve renewal operator’s license for Sean Sheridan and Michelle Arndt and new operator licenses for Amber Sweet, Ryan Brahmstadt and Sarah Driftmier, seconded by Supervisor Grapentine.
Motion by Supervisor Propson to approve variance for Scott Schenian for a non-conforming parcel size located at 9025 Cty Rd T, second by Supervisor Grapentine.
Road Report – The County Highway Dept. did several sign repairs for us. Patching was done on Ruby Lane, Old Q, and Bluebird lane. Address signs were installed, Gravel and grading on Shady Lane has been ordered. Center stripping is not done, Chairman Schuh will follow up. New Road signs for Fisherville & Parkway have been ordered. The sign on the north end of Arrow Rd is pretty deteriorated so ordered a new one. Diamond Rd, weight limit signs put up. Trucks from Radandts pit have been cutting across on Diamond Rd.
Transfer Station – According to our well monitoring/testing we have one well that has been steadily increasing in iron year after year and has finally hit the threshold.
Waste tire collection will be starting on Sept 11th. Hopefully we can make it to the end of Oct or November to empty glass and tin.
Chairman Schuh picked up couch in a driveway and took it to the Transfer Station. We have received complaints on Reif Mills Lane about chemical being sprayed on lawns, and a dog at large. Also picked up 2 stray dogs on the East side of the Town last Thursday that went back to owner. Both were not from our Town.
Supervisor Propson would like to talk to Gibson to see how it’s going with the ATV/UTV ordinance.
Information has been forwarded to the County on the 3 properties that we sent letters to on their junk since their clean up dates have passed. We also received a comlaint on an ATV tearing up the ditch and shoulder on Thunder Rd.
Claims 292 – 315 were allowed ordered paid.
Motion by Supervisor Propson and seconded by Supervisor Grapentine to adjourn the September meeting.
Next month’s meeting will be moved to Wednesday, October 4th.
