The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Kossuth was held in the Town Hall 129 Packer Drive, on Monday, February 5, 2018. Agenda for this meeting was posted on Saturday February 3, 2018 at the Town Hall, Recycling Center and St. Augustine Church. Present: Chair Ralph Schuh, Supervisor, Mark Grapentine, Clerk Jolyn Schuh, Treasurer Judy Fierst, and Constable Groelle, Absent: David Propson.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ralph Schuh. The pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion by Supervisor Grapentine and second by Chairman Schuh to approve the agenda as posted. Travis Groelle was introduced as our new Constable.
Clerk Schuh read the minutes of the January meeting. Motion by Supervisor Grapentine second by Chairman Schuh to approve minutes as read.
Treasurer Judy Fierst reported $327,722.56 in the Money Market, with interest earned $203.12 and $344.71 in the checking account. Recycling Revenues for January were $2,998.25. Tax account collected a little over $856,000. Motion by Supervisor Grapentine and second by Chairman Schuh to accept Treasurer’s report as presented.
There was no public input.
No Building or Driveway Permits Issued
Burn Permits were issued to Richard Kunz and Holschbach Excavating
Troy Zacharias from Action Appraisers was there to talk about Act 68 and how that will affect the town.
Motion by Supervisor Grapentine and seconded by Chairman Schuh to grant Operator Licenses to Kristy Hedman, Sayde Tribolini, and Selena Hooper.
Road Report – Weather lately has been snow, wind, and rain, repeat. Plowing has been good. Supervisor Grapentine has even received some compliments on the plowing.
Sign on Old County Q at Ruby Lane was replaced. We will send individual the bill.
Shady Lane Resolution for March 7th – Motion by Chairman Schuh and second by Supervisor Grapentine to adopt a resolution to conduct a public hearing for the purpose of establishing a record of the legal description of the roadway.
Supervisor Grapentine is going to set up a couple of trail cams at the Transfer Station. We still have people dumping their garbage when we are closed which makes extra work for the guys when they want to open Saturday morning.
Constables – nothing to report.
Claims 58 – 108 were allowed ordered paid.
